Castellanos' finishing problem and Bowen's ankle before West Brom

Bowen twisted his ankle, but he is available

Jarrod Bowen rolled his ankle in training this week. Nuno Espirito Santo says West Ham's captain "seems okay" for West Brom at home on Saturday at 15:00 (3).

"Jarrod twisted his ankle in training. He had treatment for a couple of days, but he joined us today, and he seems okay," Nuno said (3).

Your team sits 3rd with 22 points from 12 games, +17 on goal difference. West Brom are the next test.

The attack is the best in the league, but Castellanos is missing

West Ham's forward line has been the standout of the season (1). Taty Castellanos is underperforming his expected goals by 2.06, the worst gap in the squad (1).

That number matters. Your attack is creating. Your striker is not finishing. Against a side sitting behind the ball, one chance is often all you get.

Southampton 3–2 still stings

Southampton beat West Ham 3–2 at the London Stadium last weekend (8). Cyle Larin and Flynn Downes both missed that win for Saints (8).

They are hoping at least one of them is back for QPR on Saturday (8). That is a Southampton problem now, not yours.

Füllkrug is scoring for Werder, and Werder never doubted him

Niclas Füllkrug left West Ham and is now the Bundesliga's top scorer (5). Werder Bremen sporting director Clemens Fritz said there was no hesitation about bringing him back after his loan.

"We weren't sceptical at all! We acted with absolute conviction" (5).

Wyness: promotion or nothing for Nuno

Former Aston Villa chief Keith Wyness thinks Nuno's job is a straight yes or no on promotion. "I think it has to be promotion or nothing" (4).

Nuno's record so far: 6 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses in 12 (2). West Ham are 3rd and in the automatic promotion places.

The £45m question

An opinion piece argues West Ham's £45m transfer call looks worse with every game and that Nuno has to demand more from the squad (7).

The counterpoint: the club passed on Chris Rigg in the summer, and Lewis Orford and Mohamadou Kante are coming through instead (6). Both arguments are live while one automatic spot is at stake.
