Hove's penalty broke the league leaders
Sirius 1–2 AIK. Johan Hove scored the winner from the spot in first-half stoppage time after Mohamed Soumah went in behind Taha Ayari (3). AIK won away at the Allsvenskan leaders on Saturday, and the title race is open again (1)(5).
Not everyone loved the call. Nordin Gerzic in TV4 was blunt: "I think that is far too little for it to be a penalty" (1). Sirius had wanted a penalty of their own earlier and did not get it (3).
AIK sit eighth on 37 points from 25 games, with a goal difference of -3. That win ended a run of D, L, L, D and gave your team something to actually cheer (5).

Ellingsen finally played, after 965 days
Martin Ellingsen made his Allsvenskan debut for AIK in that win. His injury absence had lasted 965 days (4)(9). "It was completely indescribable. It was a strange feeling, it has been so long," he said (9).
John Guidetti said on TV4 that Ellingsen had thought about quitting football (4). Ellingsen's answer was short: "No, well I don't know if I have thought about packing it in" (4).
A strange celebration, and a favour nobody expected
Djurgården and Hammarby needed AIK to win, and AIK did it (10). The celebrating afterwards felt odd to the players. "It was a slightly strange celebration with the supporters afterwards," Hove said (6).
Linus Carlstrand had said it before kickoff: "We will go into every match to win and it will never happen that we lie down" (12). He was right.
Liimatta lasted four minutes
Otso Liimatta came off injured after four minutes against AIK, another setback for him. "Extremely sad," said Henrik Rönnlöf Castegren (8).
Then next: Elfsborg at home on Tuesday
IF Elfsborg visit on Tuesday 27 October, 19:00 CET, three days after the Sirius win. GAIS away follows on Monday 2 November, 19:00 CET.
Rival watch: Djurgården 2–2 Örgryte
Djurgården led 2–0, then let it slip to 2–2 against Örgryte, despite Bo Hegland's 16th assist of the season, a record (14). Honkavaara did not hide: "We have ourselves to blame" (14).
Fan reactions
The AIK corner of Reddit is stuck on one number: Ellingsen's debut means AIK have now used 37 players in Allsvenskan this season, past Helsingborg's 2022 record of 36. Fans are reading it as a squad that has been stretched to its limit, not a proud stat. The Ellingsen thread is where the debate is running.
