Slot to Ajax, Cruijff's advice
Jordi Cruijff has publicly urged Ajax to pursue Arne Slot as the club's next head coach, calling the recently fired Liverpool manager "a typical Ajax coach." Maarten Wijffels echoed the sentiment, suggesting Slot could reach Ajax "via an intermediate step" (1).
The timing is intriguing. Slot is suddenly available, and Ajax are deep in a managerial search with Michel reportedly set to arrive in July. Whether that door is still open or Slot becomes a Plan B nobody expected is the question fans are asking this morning.
Tsygankov on the radar
Ajax are interested in Girona attacker Viktor Tsygankov, but they won't have a clear run at him. Premier League clubs are also circling the Ukrainian winger (2).

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport has profiled young Ajax defender Aaron Bouwman, drawing comparisons to Virgil van Dijk and framing him as a key piece in the new Michel era starting in July (3).
Big shoes to fill, but the hype is building. If Michel really does arrive, Bouwman could be one of the first youngsters to benefit, provided the new coach gives youth a real chance.
