Ten expulsions, a 24-minute stoppage, and a 30-minute delay
Referee Nicolás Lamolina's report lays out the whole night. The match kicked off 30 minutes late, at 19:30, because of unrest outside the stadium between police and home fans (1).
Ten All Boys people were expelled, and the game was stopped for 24 minutes (1).
Lamolina's own words: "El encuentro comenzó 30 minutos tarde (19:30 hs) debido a disturbios en zonas aledañas al estadio entre la policía e hinchas locales" (1).
The penalty that got scrapped, and the phone
This is the "celuVAR". Lamolina awarded Godoy Cruz a penalty at 43 minutes, All Boys players ran on with phones showing the replay, and the call was overturned (3) (11) (12) (14).
Lamolina says he fixed it on assistant Agustín Méndez's advice and never watched a screen. "Hice un esfuerzo muy grande para que no me muestren la imagen" (11) (12) (13).
He also said: "Ojalá pudiera ver el celular a cinco metros" (13).
The referees' body backs Lamolina and rejects the phone story
The Dirección Nacional de Arbitraje put out a statement confirming the penalty call was wrong but insisting he corrected it through his assistant, not a phone (4) (5) (9) (11).
Their line: "Queda expresamente de manifiesto el rechazo a las diferentes versiones periodísticas que aducían a la resolución de la mencionada jugada a través de dispositivos celulares" (4) (5) (11).
Director Federico Beligoy defended the decision publicly (7) (9).
Lamolina dropped from the next round
Lamolina is not in the matchday 13 appointments for the Torneo Clausura, in the Liga Profesional or anywhere in the ascenso (3) (6).
His assistant Agustín Méndez, the man Lamolina says flagged the call, lands Boca. Racing against Independiente also has its referee (6).
The club is taking on the City Police
All Boys blamed the Ciudad police for injuries and detentions among members before kickoff, calling it "represión injustificada", and will take the claim to the AFA and the courts (2) (8) (10).
From the club statement: "La familia blanca y negra no merece ser tratada como enemiga en su propio barrio, frente a su propia casa" (2) (8) (10).
