Celtic push for Tahirović
Celtic have made contact with Brøndby over midfielder Benjamin Tahirović. The Hoops want him, badly. "Celtic really want Benjamin Tahirović. They like him a lot," said Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, "but I can't guarantee they'll close a deal with Brøndby and sign him." (1) (2) The 23-year-old was once described as one of Ajax's greatest talents. His signing would be a statement as Martin O'Neill reshapes the midfield this summer.
Breum lined up as Engels replacement
Arne Engels is expected to leave for the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest, Sunderland and Fulham all circling. Celtic have a plan, Go Ahead Eagles midfielder Jakob Breum, available for £4.4 million. (3) The Dane profiles as a direct successor, and with Engels' exit looking inevitable, the club appear ready to move. Callum McGregor's presence in the dressing room will be vital if another young midfielder arrives.
Vitalis also on the radar
Celtic are tracking Gyor midfielder Milan Vitalis as another midfield option. (3) The Hungarian international is part of a wider scouting push that also includes Rodez striker Tairyk Arconte and Go Ahead Eagles keeper Jari De Busser. With Reo Hatate wanting out and Benjamin Nygren hinting at a move, the rebuild under O'Neill is going to be busy.
