Everton away, Saturday lunchtime
Chelsea go to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to face Everton on Saturday at 13:30 CEST (3). You sit sixth on 10 points from six games, and the last outing was a 5–1 home win over Bournemouth on Saturday, October 10 (3). Everton away is the first of two big league games in eight days, with Tottenham at home on Saturday, October 24 (3).
There is a drought to end here. Chelsea have not won at Everton in a long time, and a lunchtime kickoff on the road is exactly the sort of game that decides whether this season has any shape to it (3).

Jorrel Hato's estimated transfer value at Chelsea has risen 35.6% in a month, to €54.5 million (1). He has become a key part of Xabi Alonso's defence (1).

Chelsea paid Ajax €44.18 million for him in the summer of 2025 (7).
Enzo Fernández, the only one
Enzo Fernández is the only footballer ever to command two fees over €100 million (5). Chelsea paid Benfica for him, and River Plate's earlier sale of him crossed the same mark (5). Neymar remains the most expensive transfer ever, at €222 million from Barcelona to PSG (5).
Chelsea eye Ajax again, and Scott slips away
Chelsea are reportedly ready to bring €40 million to Ajax for a new signing, a repeat of the Hato deal but with a different player (7). Newcastle United are also in the picture (7).
On Alex Scott, the picture has shifted. Chelsea had been the leading candidate for the Bournemouth midfielder this winter (4), but a new Premier League club has now overtaken both Chelsea and Manchester United, with Bournemouth's man in the driver's seat elsewhere (8). Napoli have joined Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for Boca Juniors midfielder Tomas Aranda, who has a €20 million release clause (9).
Estevao, and a name to avoid
Chelsea are reportedly considering an improved contract for Estevao, despite his limited minutes under Xabi Alonso (6).
On Lisandro Martínez, the advice to fans is simple: stay clear. Martínez has publicly criticised Manchester United's hierarchy as his exit looms, and Chelsea should not build any interest in him (2).
Fan reactions
The mood is warm and a little nostalgic. Reggie Watson's senior debut got a proper send-off, and twenty years on from Petr Cech's head injury, fans are still saying how glad they are it did not turn out worse. Away from the serious stuff, Cole Palmer beating IShowSpeed 18–0 at EAFC27 is doing the rounds, and the new third kit, which debuts at Everton this weekend, has split the room, though the ones who bought it early love it.
