Scott is off the table for January
Bournemouth do not want to sell Alex Scott in January, and Chelsea already know the price if they try anyway: €80m (2)(4). Chelsea offered around €70m in a previous window and Bournemouth turned it down (4). Now the ask is higher, and Bournemouth have made their intention clear to both Chelsea and Real Madrid (2).
Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham are all watching Scott too (3), so Chelsea would be bidding into a crowd, not into an empty room.
Gabriel said no
JJ Gabriel has rejected a move to Chelsea. The 16-year-old is looking for a way out of Manchester United and wants to go abroad instead (5)(1). Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern and PSG are the clubs in the picture (5).

That is two young English targets gone in the same window of planning (1).
Gusto left out by Zidane
Zinedine Zidane left Malo Gusto out of his first France squad, with reports pointing to concerns about the Chelsea right-back's defending (6). Gusto is 23 and this is the first squad call of a new France era. Being the one left out of it is the message.
Balde and Miller on the radar
Chelsea are pushing for Alejandro Balde, with Barcelona already lining up replacements for him (9). AC Milan are in that race too (9).
Separately, Chelsea are tracking Peyton Miller, the 18-year-old New England Revolution left-back. Arsenal and Liverpool are watching him as well (10).
And Chelsea have revived interest in Francesco Camarda, the 18-year-old AC Milan striker who has barely played this season. No offer has been made (7).
