Chelsea's six-goal League Cup comeback stuns Leeds
Chelsea turned a 2–0 deficit into a 6–3 win over Leeds United in the League Cup third round at Stamford Bridge (1)(2). Four goals came in a 12-minute second-half spell (3). Danny Welbeck scored twice, Pedro Neto also found the net (10)(12).
Alonso takes the blame
Xabi Alonso made nine changes and it nearly cost the night. "I take responsibility with the first half," he said after the 6–3 win (2)(4). He admitted there was a risk in that much rotation and that things were not going to plan until he changed it (4).
Rogers and Palmer
Morgan Rogers created four assists but Cole Palmer walked away with player of the match (5). Rogers was not having it. "Mate, I got four assists... I can't believe that, that is mental, he scored a pen" (5).

Kone chase back on

Fan reactions
Fans loved the Palmer and Rogers banter, especially Palmer's Instagram post offering to split the player-of-the-match award with Rogers. The mood around Alonso is warm too, with supporters praising how he owned the poor first half rather than hiding behind the result. https://www.reddit.com/r/chelseafc/comments/1wc2t9h/cole_palmer_on_ig_that_was_fun_ps_we_can_split
