Enzo wants out, Cucurella valued at €70m, four deals lined up

Enzo wants out

Enzo Fernandez has taken the first step toward leaving Chelsea this summer (7). The Argentine midfielder wants a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Real Madrid his preferred destination.

Chelsea have told the Daily Mail their valuation sits at £120m and insist they are not desperate to sell. But Madrid may already be looking elsewhere, reports suggest they are targeting Sporting Lisbon's Morten Hjulmand instead, which would leave Enzo with fewer exit routes (9).

A Real Madrid defender swap deal had been floated as one way to unlock the move (5), but nothing concrete has materialised.

If Enzo does go, Chelsea will need a replacement. One name already being pushed: a free-agent midfielder described as a "machine" who could bridge the gap (13).

Cucurella's price tag: €70m

Interest in Marc Cucurella is heating up. Atletico Madrid have him high on their list but want to pay under €50m (2). Chelsea's starting valuation? Around €70m (6).

Real Madrid are also in the conversation. Selling Cucurella would bring a significant fee, but you'd lose a player who has become a key part of the squad, and the club is already short on experience and leadership in defence (1).

Four deals already lined up

Chelsea aren't waiting around. Deals are reportedly in place for Geovany Quenda, Dastan Satpaev, Emmanuel Emegha, and Valentin Barco (4). Four names. Four positions. The summer rebuild is taking shape under Xabi Alonso.

Add to that: talks have opened for an English free agent (12), and the club has a second chance at a target they missed last summer (14).

Andrey Santos: not untouchable

Andrey Santos is not considered untouchable this summer, but any final decision rests with Alonso (3). If the manager sees a role for him, he stays. If not, he could be moved on.

Chelsea have also entered the race for Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso (8).

Björn with Sweden but won't play

Nathalie Björn has joined up with the Sweden squad for World Cup qualifying, but she won't feature. She's still recovering from injury and is with the camp purely for the team environment. "Being here has given me an incredible amount," Björn told SVT Sport (2).

No involvement on the pitch, but her presence matters.

Fabrizio Romano flags trouble

Two separate reports from Fabrizio Romano point to headwinds in Chelsea's summer plans. A reported target has received a contract offer elsewhere (10), and a "verbal agreement" has emerged on another deal that Chelsea fans won't welcome (11). Details remain thin, but neither story points in your direction.

Fan reactions

The Enzo valuation has split opinion. Some fans see £120m as a strong starting position, others question whether anyone pays it. The Cucurella numbers are similar: €70m feels fair to many given his form, but Atletico coming in under €50m has people rolling their eyes. Meanwhile, Reece James wearing the new kit and taking England's number 24 shirt for the World Cup has lifted the mood a bit. Read the full thread here.
