Neto's first Premier League double
Everton 0–2 Chelsea, and Pedro Neto scored both. It was the first double of his Premier League career (1). Everton had not lost a league game this season before Saturday. They have now.
Xabi Alonso's side have won two in a row: 5–1 at home to Bournemouth on October 10, then this one at Goodison. That is 13 points from seven games, fourth in the table, and the mood has turned after three games without a win in September (11).
Neto summarised the performance in three words, according to the club's own video crew: "He's loving life."

Martinez out, Penders in
Emiliano Martinez has a fractured jaw and needed surgery. He clashed heads with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite on Saturday and stayed down for a long spell before going off (6).
Martinez posted afterwards: "Gracias a todos por los mensajes, la operación fue bien. Lo más importante es que ganamos y con arco en 0. En unas semanas volvemos ya" (3). That is: thanks for the messages, the operation went well, the most important thing is we won and kept a clean sheet, back in a few weeks.
Mike Penders gets the gloves. The young Belgian now has Tottenham at home on Saturday, Manchester United at home on October 31, and Liverpool in the run that follows (2). That is a serious first stretch of games.
Leandro Paredes, Marcos Acuña and Guido Rodríguez all sent Martinez messages after the operation (3).
Chelsea Women 6–2 Tottenham
Lauren James scored twice at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea Women put six past Tottenham (4). It was 1–1 at the break. Then your team went up a gear and Tottenham could not live with it (5).
Sonia Bompastor's 50th WSL game, and her side's fifth straight league win (4). Maika Hamano, Sjoeke Nüsken and Ellie Carpenter were among the scorers, with Hannah Hampton in goal and Signe Gaupset, Lize Kop, Julie Blakstad, Matilda Vinberg, Alyssa Thompson and Keira Walsh all involved (5).
Hargreaves on Neto
Owen Hargreaves called Pedro Neto Chelsea's unsung hero after the Everton win, pointing to the brace and Neto's growing importance under Alonso (7).
€70m for Fabian Ruiz
Chelsea are preparing a €70m offer for PSG midfielder Fabian Ruiz in January, according to Topskills Sports UK (8). Ruiz signed a new deal to 2028 recently. Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle are also named on the list of interested clubs (8).
Yassine 'practically' a Chelsea player
Christophe Lollichon, the former Chelsea goalkeeping coach, was asked about Gessime Yassine. His answer: "Dziś Gessime Yassine gra w Strasbourgu, ale praktycznie jest już w Chelsea" (12). Translation: he plays for Strasbourg now, but he is practically already at Chelsea. Yassine is a 20-year-old Moroccan winger at RC Strasbourg.
Månsson on the radar
Chelsea and Arsenal are both tracking Oliver Månsson, the 17-year-old IFK Göteborg midfielder under contract to 2028. Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Sunderland are watching too, with a move eyed for 2027 (9) (13).
Nevin on Estevao
Pat Nevin did not hold back on Estevao Willian, who has made only two starts under Alonso this season while Barcelona circle (10). "He'll be a great player, but probably not for Chelsea," Nevin said (10). His full line on the teenager was warmer than that: "When he arrived at Chelsea and he played a couple of games, I thought what a fantastic, brilliant player. I absolutely, totally love him" (10).
Fan reactions
The Chelsea subreddit is in a good mood. Neto's three-word answer on the Everton performance went down well, and fans are still posting clips from the Stamford Bridge rout, including Hamano's late strike in the 5–1 and a thread noting the women's side's perfect record against Tottenham in all competitions. Others are enjoying Palmer's nutmeg on KDH.
