Congress begins today, president elected tomorrow

Fenerbahçe's two-day congress kicks off today, Saturday, with the presidential election itself set for Sunday. Sporting president slams Safi's Suárez tactics

Sporting Lisbon president Frederico Varandas has reacted angrily to Hakan Safi's claims about signing Luis Suárez, calling the approach "dirty strategies" and stating Sporting hold all the cards, "faca e queijo na mão", the knife and the cheese. Safi reportedly wants to bring Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to Fenerbahçe as well. Inter consider the Turkish international fundamental to their project, so any move would be extremely difficult. (7)

A Turkish court has rejected José Mourinho's moral damages claim against Galatasaray. No further details on the amount or grounds for the ruling were provided. (9)
