Greenwood signs, Fenerbahçe land €40m winger
Mason Greenwood is yours. Fenerbahçe have completed the signing of the English winger from Olympique Marseille for €40m plus €2m in add-ons (1) (4). Fabrizio Romano gave it the signature treatment: "Mason Greenwood naar Fenerbahçe, here we go!" (1). The deal runs until June 2030, with Greenwood earning around €10m net per year (Reddit). Manchester United get over €10m from a sell-on clause.
Greenwood turned down Saudi side Al Ahli to make this move, despite the Saudi club offering more money (3). He wanted Fenerbahçe.
Aziz Yıldırım already chasing the next one
The Greenwood deal is barely dry and president Aziz Yıldırım is already moving for a left winger. Ademola Lookman and Marcus Rashford are the two names on the shortlist (2). Atletico Madrid are also in the conversation (2).
