Kartal is back in charge
İsmail Kartal is Fenerbahçe's manager again. He resigned after the 1–1 Champions League draw with AS Roma on Thursday, and the club refused to accept it (4). He did not show up for training on Friday. On Saturday he was on the grass, preparing the team for Gaziantep (1)(2)(3)(5).
The whole thing lasted about 48 hours. "The shock wave and concern caused by the experienced coach's shock resignation ended with him taking part in yesterday's training session," Hürriyet wrote (1).
Now the squad can think about football again.

Gaziantep away on Monday
Your team plays at Gaziantep FK on Monday, 19:00 CEST (5)(7). Kickoff is set.
You sit 11th with 6 points from 4 games, and the gap to the top is already worth watching. Fenerbahçe's form reads L W W L D. A win at Gaziantep stops the slide before it becomes the story of the season.
After that: Eyüpspor at home on Sunday, September 20, 16:00 CEST.
Beşiktaş 3–0 Erzurumspor FK, and you feel it
Beşiktaş won 3–0 at home against Erzurumspor FK on Friday (10). Dušan Vlahović scored, Fabio Miretti was named in the report as the game's other driving force (10).
That keeps Beşiktaş top of the Trendyol Süper Lig on 13 points (10). Six points is the distance from you to them right now.
Beşiktaş also beat you 2–1 at your place on September 5. That one still stings.
Roma still watching Oosterwolde
Jayden Oosterwolde's move to Roma broke down in the summer over a medical (6). Italian reports say Roma are still tracking him (6).
Unconfirmed, but worth knowing. He is a Fenerbahçe player until someone pays for him, and Roma clearly have not forgotten him.
Cengiz Ünder is thriving after leaving for free
Fenerbahçe declared Cengiz Ünder unwanted and sent him to Çorum FK on a free transfer (8). He has come back to life at his new club (8).
A free exit that is looking like a bad piece of business from your side. Then again, that is football.
Bruma is a free agent
Benfica and Bruma have parted ways (9). He has worn both the Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe shirts (9).
He is available on a free. Whether Fenerbahçe look at him is another question, but a winger with Süper Lig experience on zero fee is the kind of name that always comes up.
