Nathan Aké signs for Fenerbahçe
Fenerbahçe have signed Nathan Aké from Manchester City. The Netherlands international agreed terms on Friday, and the club confirmed the deal across its channels (1) (2) (3) (6).
The fee is in the region of £7m plus £1.5m in add-ons (8) (9). Aké leaves City after six trophy-laden years, four Premier League titles, the Champions League, and a stack of domestic cups (10).
He played at the 2026 World Cup with the Netherlands and will join the squad at the Austria training camp after his leave period (5) (7). A left-footed centre-back who can also cover left-back, Aké gives your defence real pedigree. Benfica had been circling Milan Skriniar, but this signing signals the board is not waiting around.
Cihan Kamer: "We are not done"
Board member Cihan Kamer told reporters the club is pushing forward on multiple fronts. "We are working on transfers with no names attached," he said, making clear that Aké is not the final piece (14).
The links to Vedat Muriqi, Serhou Guirassy, Ollie Watkins, and Brahim Diaz are out there. Kamer's message: expect more movement.
Fan reactions
City fans on Reddit are largely respectful about the move, with the consensus being that £7m plus add-ons is fair business for a 31-year-old who gave the club everything. Fenerbahçe fans are energized, the official announcement thread drew quick enthusiasm about Aké joining a backline already featuring Skriniar, and many are asking who comes next. Read the thread.
