Yıldırım walks back UEFA relegation claim
Presidential candidate Aziz Yıldırım has clarified his earlier warning that UEFA could relegate Fenerbahçe over financial issues. Speaking this week, he dialled back the alarm, stressing the club's debt and spending limits remain the real concern, not an imminent threat from Nyon (1) (3). He's campaigning hard on fixing the books and has promised two striker signings if elected.
Leao tug-of-war with Galatasaray
The rumour mill in Italy is spinning: Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are both circling AC Milan winger Rafael Leao (2) (4). It would be a massive coup for either Istanbul giant, but with Leao under contract at Milan until 2028, any deal would require serious money, exactly the kind of splash Yıldırım is promising on the campaign trail.
National team star also on the radar
Separate reports have both Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray making moves for an unnamed Turkish international (5). No name yet, but the derby is already being fought off the pitch this summer.
