Hammarby drop late points as Skoglund fuels exit talk

One point, two dropped

Hammarby drew 1–1 at Brommapojkarna on Sunday. That is the line, clean and flat, but it buries what actually happened. Henrik Rydström's team conceded in the closing minutes after leading through Victor Lind's goal (1) (2). Rydström did not hide. "I should have been much more sophisticated," he said afterwards, directing the frustration squarely at himself (1) (3).

The table still says second, 26 points from 14 games. That looks fine. It is not fine when you led with minutes to go against a team that will finish mid-table. Hammarby's last three league results are wins, yes, but this is the kind of dropped point that separates contenders from the rest come autumn.

Skoglund dodging, Augustinsson booed

The transfer window is open and the noise is rising. Hampus Skoglund was asked directly about leaving Hammarby after the Anderlecht draw. His answer: "Take it up with my agent, I'm only focused on the here and now" (3) (5). That is not a denial. Rangers links are being questioned, the Girona trail has gone cold, but Skoglund chose not to shut anything down (3).

Then there is Ludwig Augustinsson, booed by sections of the home crowd during the 1–1 Europa League qualifier against Anderlecht (6) (10). Augustinsson said his teammates were surprised by it, which tells you this was audible and targeted (10) (12). 23,572 fans turned up for that tie, the highest attendance in the second qualifying round across the whole competition (7) (13) (15). When a player gets that reception in front of numbers like that, it is a story that sticks.

Hammarby Women take the lead

While the men dropped points, Hammarby Women demolished Norrköping 4–0 to go top of the Damallsvenskan (4) (6) (8). Inés Lorenius scored on her league debut and called it "damn fun" at half-time, which is about as good a first impression as you can make (6). The goals came from across the squad: Arnardottir, Nyhagen, Persson, and a young group that is showing real depth (8) (11).

This is a team that now sits top of the table with conviction, not on goal difference alone. The 4–0 scoreline reflects the gap.

What to watch

The Anderlecht return leg is the immediate focus with everything still level at 1–1 (6) (10) (12). But Rydström has a squad question to answer first: how does the late collapse at BP change the XI for a European knockout? Skoglund's body language is worth monitoring too. If the right-back is truly focused on the here and now, the away leg in Brussels is where he proves it.
