Barcola talks back on with PSG
Liverpool have reignited talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola (6). This is the transfer your summer has been waiting on, and it is moving again with under a week left in the window.
Separate reporting says Liverpool are close to landing Barcola (1). A deal could be partly funded by Cody Gakpo's exit (7). Gakpo scored in the 2–2 draw at Newcastle on Sunday and Iraola called him one of his best players (9). If the reports are right, one goal won't keep him.
Brighton want £80m for Minteh
The other winger target just got expensive. Brighton want £80m for Yankuba Minteh and have told Liverpool a previous £60m bid was competitive but rejected (8). Liverpool won't meet that price, per Ben Jacobs (2). No third bid unless Brighton come down.

Crouch wants a midfield signing
Peter Crouch is not waiting on the wingers. He says Liverpool must replace Curtis Jones with a new midfield signing before next week's deadline (3). The window shuts soon and Crouch is pushing for action in the middle too.
Wright on his pre-season dream
Will Wright called his senior pre-season tour a dream come true (4). The young striker got minutes in the US and scored against Everton at Goodison Park. He also praised the support of Alexander Isak during that spell.

Reddit fans are split on Minteh at £80m, with most agreeing Liverpool are right to walk away at that valuation. The £60m rejected bid is the main talking point, and supporters are backing the club's stance. Some point to the Barcola talks as the more realistic path. See the thread here.
