Brighton at Anfield, and Szoboszlai is out
Liverpool vs Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield on Sunday, 25 October, 15:00 CET. Fifth plays third (1).
Dominik Szoboszlai is ruled out with a hamstring injury, so the midfield is thinner than you would like (1) (2). Your form reads W L W W W, and the one L is that 0–3 home defeat to Manchester City on 11 October. Brighton sit above you in the table. Win and you climb past them.
Szoboszlai turns 26 in the treatment room
Dominik Szoboszlai is 26 on 25 October, and he spends it rehabbing the injury that keeps him out of the Brighton game (3). The vice-captain is the one name you would pick to have available for a fixture this tight. He is not.

No Trent return, and a right-back is being watched
Liverpool have made a decision on Trent Alexander-Arnold: no return (2). Right-back is still an open file, with the club monitoring another target while Manchester City keep an eye on the same name (2). With long-term absentees in that area, it is not a small story.
Brighton fans are not scared of you
A Brighton supporter told the Liverpool ECHO that Andoni Iraola is "papering over cracks" at a "vulnerable" Liverpool (4). That is the away end's read on your team going into Sunday. Brighton fans think there is something there to take.
Tyler Morton, and a 20 percent sell-on
Liverpool are monitoring Tyler Morton, now at Lyon, with Crystal Palace and a string of other Premier League clubs circling (5). Lyon could receive an offer they cannot refuse for him (5). Liverpool hold a 20% sell-on clause and could consider bringing him back to Anfield, so any sale has a direct effect on your club's money and squad plans (5).
Fan reactions
The subreddit is in a light mood before kickoff, with the birthday thread for Dominik Szoboszlai and Federico Chiesa getting the most love. One post jokes about switching nationalities entirely. Nothing about Brighton, yet. That changes at 15:00. Birthday thread
