Liverpool Women lose a five-goal shootout to Man Utd
Liverpool Women are out of the Subway Players Cup. Manchester United beat them 5–3 (7). United made it three wins from three in the group, and Maya Le Tissier scored their fifth on 77 minutes (Reddit). For Liverpool it is a second defeat in the competition, and the defensive numbers are the story: five conceded, none of them cheap.
Three wins in a row, and Brighton are next
Liverpool beat Villarreal 4–3 at Anfield on Tuesday, their third straight win (1). Before that they won 2–1 at Brentford on Saturday and 6–3 at LASK Linz in the Champions League on 14 October. The 0–3 home defeat to Manchester City on 11 October is the only loss in that run. You sit fifth on 12 points from seven games with a goal difference of +1. Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield on Sunday, 15:00 CET, is next.
Wirtz is not going anywhere this winter
Bayern Munich are interested in Florian Wirtz. Liverpool have no intention of selling him, or loaning him, in the winter window (5). Wirtz is reportedly open to a Bundesliga return at some point. Not in January.

Trent talk, and an unlikely Old Trafford link
Trent Alexander-Arnold is being touted for a return to Liverpool as he struggles for minutes at Real Madrid (4). The awkward part: he left Anfield last year. Separately, a national team figure has said a Manchester United player could "thrive" at Liverpool, a move the source itself calls extremely unlikely (3).
Vuskovic and Josh King on the radar
Liverpool are monitoring Brighton centre-back Luka Vuskovic, valued around €60m, along with Manchester United and Real Madrid. Tottenham are also watching their former player (2). Fulham's Josh King, 19, is another name on the list at around €58m, with Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund interested. Fulham will not sell in January (6). Note the timing: Vuskovic plays against you on Sunday.
Fan reactions
United fans are enjoying the run more than the scoreline: three wins from three in the Players Cup and six straight wins in all competitions is the line being repeated on r/reddevils, with Maya Le Tissier's 77th-minute fifth the moment getting shared. The thread is more about United's form than anything Liverpool did wrong.
