Carmo return gathering pace, Porto hold a slice
David Carmo is coming back. That is the story from three separate outlets this morning, and the momentum is real.
Portuguese reports, including A Bola, say the deal is now close (1) (3). Sportime goes further: the announcements are imminent, and a phone call with José Luis Mendilibar changed everything (2). The coach wanted him back, and that conversation appears to have unlocked the move.
Porto still have a 10% sell-on clause, so they profit from the transfer too (1). Carmo spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, but Olympiacos is where he left his mark, and the centre-back at his best was a force in Piraeus.
No fee has been confirmed yet. The deal is not signed. But three sources, one morning, all pointing the same way: Carmo is close to red and white again.
