Ortega lands in Athens
Stefan Ortega arrived in Athens on Tuesday and he did not hide his ambition. The Manchester City goalkeeper has signed for Olympiacos and his first words were about the Champions League qualifier next week (1) (2).
"The Marinakis family really wanted me. I'm very happy to be here. I can't wait to start, to see the staff and my teammates" (1).
Ortega knows the setup already, he was here with City for the Super Cup. "I know the facilities and the stadium" (1).
Then he laid out the target, plain and simple: "First of all, next week there is a very important game for the first major objective, which is to qualify for the Champions League. Then we must always be champions here" (2).
No hesitation. No settling in. He gets what this club demands.
