Closing in on the Roca deal
Olympiacos and Girona are moving closer to an agreement for young winger Roca, with the two clubs making progress in negotiations (10). The deal is not done yet, but the gap is narrowing, and this one looks like it's heading toward a conclusion.
Roca fits the profile Mendilibar wants: pace, intensity, a winger who can stretch teams. If it gets over the line, it's another piece of the summer rebuild falling into place.
The bigger picture
This comes on the heels of the Maffeo agreement with Mallorca, a right-back coming in at around three million euros to replace Kostinia after his Brighton move. Mendilibar is reshaping the squad on his terms.
You still need a midfielder. Unai López remains on the table but is not finalised yet. A Greek left-back is also on the radar. And an attacking wide player like Roca is the latest priority being ticked off.
The club is moving fast and with clear intent. Two signings nearly wrapped up, more in the pipeline.
