Olympiacos pushing hard for Stanić, Ludogorets want €7–8m
The club is going all-in on Petar Stanić. Ludogorets have set their price at €7–8 million for the Serbian winger, and Olympiacos are determined to get this done (1). It will not be straightforward. Other clubs are circling, and the Bulgarian side are in no rush to sell cheap. The player wants the move, and that may be what swings it.
José Luis Mendilibar has made Stanić a priority target as the summer squad rebuild gathers pace. Rodinei and Chiquinho already returned to Greece early for individual training, a signal of intent from within the squad as well.
Taremi's nightmare evening: penalty miss, VAR heartbreak
Egypt 1–1 Iran in Seattle, and Mehdi Taremi will want to forget it. The Olympiacos striker won a penalty, stepped up himself, and missed (2). Then it got worse.
Deep in stoppage time, Taremi thought he had won the World Cup group stage match for Iran, but VAR ruled his goal out (2) (3). Egypt held on for the draw that saw them through. Taremi's tournament continues, but this one will sting.
