Vrousai and Mista linked with Olympiacos return
Marios Vrousai and Cezary Mista are on Olympiacos's radar. Portuguese outlet A Bola reports the Rio Ave pair, both under contract until June 2027, could be heading to Piraeus this summer (2).
The link is no coincidence. Evangelos Marinakis owns both clubs, and the pipeline between Rio Ave and Olympiacos is well established. A Bola put it plainly: the two players are preparing for their fourth season in Portugal, "unless Olympiacos comes to snatch them" (2).
Vrousai alongside Maffeo, the latest from Portugal
A second report from A Bola doubles down. Vrousai is the name gathering momentum, and the Portuguese press now frames it as a potential return, the Greek defender coming back to Olympiacos, this time alongside Pablo Maffeo (4). Mista, the Polish goalkeeper, remains part of the same conversation.
Nothing is agreed. But the noise from Portugal is consistent, and Marinakis makes these moves smoother than most.
Fan reactions
Fans are split. Some see Vrousai as a known quantity who adds depth to a side chasing another title. Others want bigger names and worry this is a sideways move rather than a statement signing. The Marinakis connection fuels both trust and suspicion. Read the thread on Reddit.
