PAOK basketball swept by Panathinaikos, Boutskos bids farewell

Swept in the semi-finals

PAOK's basketball season ended Saturday with a 94–102 home loss to Panathinaikos, completing a clean sweep in the Stoiximan GBL semi-final series (4) (5). Cedi Osman ran the show for the visitors, and your team simply had no answer. The defeat stings, not just for the final score, but because it closes a campaign that had real promise.

Boutskos says goodbye

Pantelis Boutskos called it "a really beautiful journey" after what appears to have been his last game in a PAOK jersey (1) (3). He bowed to the crowd at the final whistle, a moment that wasn't lost on anyone in the arena. The emotion was genuine, and the fans gave it right back (3).

Ataman stirs the pot

After the win, Panathinaikos coach Ergin Ataman congratulated Olympiacos on their EuroLeague title before immediately firing a shot: "But we are better and we will win the championship" (2). Not subtle, not classy, and exactly the kind of quote that fuels a rivalry.
