Geertruida is coming
Lutsharel Geertruida is joining PSV on a one-year loan from RB Leipzig. The deal is agreed and the defender reports in Eindhoven on Wednesday for his medical (1) (2). Romano has confirmed it and given the green light for the medical (8).
The numbers
PSV secured a purchase option worth €15 million as part of the loan (3) (5). The loan itself runs for one season (2). That gives you a real chance to make this permanent next summer without committing now.
What this fixes
Bosz gets a defensive reinforcement before the window closes, which matters after a wobbly start. Four points from two games, 2–2 at home to Sittard and a 2–1 win at Excelsior. The defence has looked unsettled at times. Geertruida changes that picture (6). Feyenoord fans are furious about it, one called it a betrayal, which tells you the calibre of player you are getting (11).
The bigger picture
This is the shape of the new PSV under Bosz. Veerman is on his way to Dortmund for around €22 million, and a slice of that money is clearly going into the squad rebuild (4). Some pundits say you are better off without Veerman, others see a loss of creativity. Either way, Geertruida is the first concrete sign of the direction.
Fan-reaktioner
Fans are reacting with cautious optimism to the Geertruida news, with the rumour thread drawing steady engagement. The mood skews positive, a defense-first signing is exactly what many supporters felt the squad needed after the opening two matches. There is also some chatter about bringing in more depth, with one thread floating a loan for Boscagli, who played only 800 Premier League minutes across 12 matches last season.
