Veerman fights three-match ban after AZ collapse
Joey Veerman and PSV have rejected the KNVB prosecutor's proposed three-match suspension. The red card came Sunday in the Johan Cruijff Schaal, a brutal 4–0 loss to AZ (2) (3). PSV are taking it to the disciplinary committee instead (4). If the ban sticks, Veerman misses the Eredivisie opener against Fortuna Sittard on Saturday and the two after.
