Meunier joins Sunderland as Wouters heads to Club Brugge
Wouters leaves Belgium staff for Club Brugge
Maxim Wouters is heading to Club Brugge. The fitness coach has left both Sporting Kampenhout and the Belgium national team setup, joining Club NXT to work alongside Christophe Tack (1). "When Club Brugge called me, I didn't have to think twice," Wouters said (1). It is a loss for the backroom staff, but the kind of move that speaks to Brugge's pull right now.
Meunier signs two-year deal at Sunderland
Thomas Meunier is back in English football. The Belgium international has signed for two seasons with Sunderland, choosing the Black Cats over Valencia (2). Meunier called it "the challenge I wanted" and said he is looking forward to playing alongside Brian Brobbey and Robin Roefs (2). At 34, a Premier League return was not guaranteed, but Sunderland made it happen.
