Parreira hospitalized, Ancelotti rings five changes for Haiti

Parreira, 1994 World Cup winner, hospitalized

Carlos Alberto Parreira is in hospital. The coach who led Brazil to the 1994 World Cup is being treated for Hodgkin's lymphoma in Rio de Janeiro (1) (4). No further details on his condition have been released.

Ancelotti makes five changes for Haiti

Ancelotti is shaking it up. Brazil trained with five new faces in the starting XI for Friday's match against Haiti: Luiz Henrique, Martinelli, Fabinho, Danilo, and Léo Pereira all came in (7). Casemiro is among those making way. The message after the 1–1 draw with Morocco is clear.

Neymar back in training, but not ready

Neymar trained with teammates on Wednesday for the first time at this World Cup (6) (8). He is not yet fit enough to play. Friday against Haiti looks too soon, but the sight of him on the pitch is the best news Brazil fans have had all week.

Felipe Melo: Brazil not at Argentina's level

Felipe Melo went public with something a lot of fans are thinking. "It was a mistake when I said Brazil is at the same level as Argentina. It was an error of mine. In terms of players, we are at the same level, but Brazil does not have a game plan" (5). That is a former Brazil international saying what the 1–1 draw with Morocco already hinted at.

92% chance to advance, 4% to win it all

The numbers say you are almost certainly through. Brazil have a 92.16% chance of advancing from Group C after the Morocco draw, with a 4.08% shot at the trophy (3). France are now the favorites.

Haiti up next, Friday

Haiti have never earned a single point at a World Cup (2). Brazil have won by four or more goals in 22.61% of their tournament matches historically. Friday is a chance to reset, build confidence, and put the Morocco result behind you.
