Cuéllar debuts with assist as Colombia edge Uzbekistan 2–1

Cuéllar sets up Díaz for the winner

Gustavo Cuéllar made his World Cup debut count. Colombia beat Uzbekistan 2–1 in the Group K opener at the Estadio Azteca on Wednesday, and Cuéllar supplied the assist for Luis Díaz's decisive goal (1). Not a bad way to introduce yourself on the biggest stage, Cuéllar climbed through Racing to the top flight back home, and now he has a World Cup assist on his first appearance.
