Rice and Saka injury doubts before England face Ghana

Ghana face England on Tuesday in their second Group L match, and England's camp is giving you plenty to track.

Declan Rice has been playing hurt for six months

Declan Rice revealed he has been managing hamstring nerve pain since January, calling the fixture schedule "obscene" for club and country (3). He says he is "ready and fit" for Tuesday (3). Six months of carrying that through a season and into a World Cup.

Saka is training but England are being careful

Bukayo Saka trained with the squad and is being managed through an Achilles issue (1). Patrick Vieira said it plainly: "We just hope that Saka's injury is not that bad and he will come back because those players coming from the bench will have a massive impact" (4). Thomas Tuchel has not confirmed whether Saka starts or sits.

Vieira backs Madueke to start against your team

Vieira made the case for Noni Madueke on the wing. His reasoning: Harry Kane will drop deep, and England need pace running in behind. "You are not going to find somebody better than Madueke to do it," Vieira said (4). If Madueke gets the nod, your full-backs will have a direct runner to deal with all night.

Partey remains out as Ghana's legal fight continues

Thomas Partey is still not available. Canadian authorities denied his visa, and Ghana's government has filed a legal challenge to overturn that decision. Meanwhile the squad publicly celebrated his birthday, a signal that he remains central to the group. For now, he watches from afar.
