Kiki Ramos, Haiti-born Vélez prospect, trains with Argentina U17

Kiki Ramos is a name to file away. Born in Haiti and raised at Vélez, the young forward has been training with Argentina's U17s under Diego Placente, with his sights set on breaking into the first team (1). Ramos survived the 2010 earthquake as an infant in an orphanage before being adopted and moving to Argentina, where Vélez spotted him early. Now 17, he trains with the senior reserves and has made clear his dream is to wear the Argentina shirt, a choice that carries weight given his Haitian roots and the two nations now competing for emerging talent on the world stage.
