Trump jokes Mexico should be cut from a future World Cup

Donald Trump joked Friday that if the United States hosts another World Cup, Mexico and Canada should be left out. Speaking alongside FIFA president Gianni Infantino, Trump said the US should be chosen again, "Desta vez, deixaríamos México e Canadá de fora", drawing laughs from the guests (1). The quip comes with the 2026 tournament still unfolding, co-hosted by all three nations, and Spain already through to the final after a 2–0 win over France in Dallas.
