De Jong facing four months out with knee injury

De Jong facing four months out with knee damage

Bad news from Barcelona. Frenkie de Jong returned early from the World Cup with severe knee inflammation and possible ligament damage (1). Barcelona fear he could be out for up to four months. Your midfield general, sidelined. That leaves the next Oranje manager with a huge hole to fill in the engine room.

Meerdink: groin injury ruined my debut, I want another shot

Mexx Meerdink is not giving up. The AZ striker got his first Oranje call-up and a groin injury took it all away before he could step on the pitch (3). "Ervan overtuigd dat het lukt", convinced it will happen (3). He is 22 and has time, but he needs a manager who sees him in the squad first.

Valencia eye Dutch right-back Ehizibue

Kingsley Ehizibue has caught Valencia's attention. The 31-year-old Udinese right-back could be headed to La Liga (4). Ehizibue has been a steady presence in Serie A but has never locked down a regular Oranje spot. A move to a bigger stage might change that.

Hofland returns to MVV under Jonker

Milan Hofland, son of former Oranje international Kevin Hofland, is back at MVV. Andries Jonker brought him in from RFCU Luxemburg (2). A smaller note in Dutch football, but Jonker clearly trusts the name.
