Pape Thiaw sacked after World Cup exit
It is over for Pape Thiaw. Senegal have dismissed their head coach following the round of 32 defeat to Belgium at the 2026 World Cup (1) (2) (3) (4).
The 3–2 loss, a match Courtois later admitted was tougher than Belgium's subsequent test against the United States, proved to be Thiaw's last in charge. The federation moved quickly once the tournament ended. No successor has been named yet.
