Jayden Adams dies at 25, police open investigation

Jayden Adams is dead. The Bafana Bafana midfielder, 25, died on Saturday, 12 July 2026, and South African police have opened an investigation (1). No cause of death has been disclosed. Adams was part of the South Africa squad that made history at the 2026 World Cup, reaching the knockout stages for the first time. He was not among the players who returned to the heroes' welcome at OR Tambo International Airport this week.
