Butler-Oyedeji wanted by Auxerre and Hertha as World Cup looms
Lausanne striker on the move
Nathan Butler-Oyedeji is attracting serious interest from Auxerre and Hertha Berlin after a strong season with Lausanne-Sport. The 23-year-old former Arsenal academy forward has impressed in the Swiss Super League, and the French side have made him their priority target at around €800,000 (2). A move to Ligue 1 or the 2. Bundesliga looks increasingly likely this summer.
Group B opener against Qatar
Switzerland begin their World Cup campaign Saturday against Qatar in San Francisco. The match at Levi's Stadium is the first of three Group B fixtures, with Brazil looming as the group's headline opponent (3) (4). After the disjointed friendly defeat to Australia and low diaspora turnout in the US, Murat Yakin's side need a convincing start to settle the camp and reconnect with fans.
Quick hit
Sweden's Stryktipset has marked Switzerland as the banker pick for their World Cup matches against certain opponents. Nothing the team need to worry about, but an interesting nod from the Nordic betting crowd ahead of the tournament (1).
